Pain Control After Penile Enlargement: What You Should Really Expect

Pain Control After Penile Enlargement: What You Should Really Expect

One of the most common questions I get from men considering penile enhancement with the Himplant is:

“Is there pain after Himplant surgery?”

The thought of post-op pain understandably makes a lot of guys pause. But here’s the truth, and most don’t believe me when I say it:

This is a surprisingly painless surgery.

No Narcotics. No Problem.

At Miami Men’s, our pain protocol is intentionally minimalist:

  • Tylenol (acetaminophen)
  • Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin)

That’s it.

We don’t send our patients home with narcotics because they don’t need them.

The vast majority of men manage their post-operative discomfort with just these two over-the-counter medications, taken on a rotating schedule. It’s simple. It’s clean. And it works.

What Actually Hurts?

There are only two consistent sources of discomfort after a Himplant procedure:

  1. The Surgical Drain
Placed temporarily to prevent fluid accumulation, the drain can feel like a minor nuisance after the first 24–48 hours. It’s more annoying than painful. Once it’s removed, most men feel immediate relief.
  2. Nocturnal Erections
This is the one that catches some patients off guard.
In the first few nights, most men don’t experience much.
But younger patients, or those on exogenous testosterone, may start having nighttime erections fairly early in the healing process.
And that can be uncomfortable especially while the tissues are still inflamed and adjusting around the implant.

Managing Nocturnal Pain: What I Recommend

When nocturnal erections become bothersome, my go-to protocol is simple:

  • Premedicate before bed with Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

If you wake up with an erection and discomfort:

  • Stand up
  • Walk around the room for 1–2 minutes
  • Let gravity and motion drop the erection

It may sound too simple—but it works.

Unfortunately, modern medicine has poured billions into helping men get erections… but very little into helping them suppress erections when needed.

There’s no great pharmaceutical solution for this. Just time and practical strategies.

How Long Does the Discomfort Last?

It varies.

Some men are back to work and sleeping soundly within a few days. Others, especially those more prone to nocturnal arousal, may take longer to fully feel at ease.

But across the board, pain is limited, manageable, and temporary.

Final Word: Don’t Let Fear of Pain Hold You Back

This is not a procedure that will leave you bedridden or curled up in agony.

This is a refined, surgical enhancement with a surprisingly smooth recovery.

We’ve worked hard to ensure that our techniques, our instruments, and our protocols allow for maximum results with minimal disruption.

So if pain is what’s holding you back, don’t let it.

Enhanced confidence is closer than you think.
